The Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA) calls for support in the aftermath of the recent earthquakes that occurred in southeastern Türkiye (Turkey) on February 6, February 21, and February 27, 2023, which have now killed more than 41,000 people in Türkiye and in neighboring Syria. We also call for support for the thousands of lives who were similarly displaced by Cyclone Gabrielle, which struck New Zealand on February 12, 2023.
We encourage our members to consider sharing their support with those in Türkiye, Syria, and New Zealand. APALA has included some links below to learn more, donate, or find help:
