Press Release
APALA Career Center Website Accepting Job Posts!
Dear APALA Colleagues,
We are excited to announce the APALA Career Center website!
Approved by the APALA Executive Board and with generous support from Springer Nature, this new job portal is an incredible opportunity for both APALA members and non-members to post and share job ads for the APALA community. The job postings in this site will be frequently updated and will automatically send emails to members when new job opportunities are posted (members are also able to opt out of this feature).
For APALA members:
- You can sign up for a free account to explore other features, such as having your name and resume floated to potential employers with job openings.
- You can still use the listserv to share jobs from your institutions but we highly encourage you to share jobs through the Career Center page.
- If you have been contacted by non-APALA members asking you to post their job ads on their behalf, you can now direct them to the APALA Career Center page instead.
For employers posting jobs:
- You will have the ability to select different types/lengths of posting based on varying costs and features, which may then be shared with APALA members directly.
These job postings will generate revenues to support APALA’s overall financial health and to expand our scholarships, awards, and grants for APALA for a brighter future.
Many thanks to Kat Bell and the Finance and Fundraising Committee, Tarida Anantachai, Amanda Cheung, Silvia Lew, Jaena Rae Cabrera, Annie Pho, and Lessa Pelayo-Lozada for being part of the process in launching this site! Also special thanks to APALA member and BCALA President Shauntee Burns-Simpson for sharing helpful feedback regarding this site.
Going forward, the site will be managed by the Finance and Fundraising Committee. To learn more about the APALA Career Center Website, please visit the APALA Career Center page (this site is also added in our home page).
All best,
Ray Pun
APALA President 2021-2022
