Thankful. Honored. Accomplished. Proud. Excited. These are just some of the many words I can think of about APALA.
I am Thankful of your continued support of the organization. Our gratitude to all the Executive Board members, committee members and many others who volunteered their time and donate their money to our organization. Your time and contributions are valuable in continuing our programs and initiatives.
I am Honored and Proud to be part of an organization that values equity, diversity, and inclusion. Your work in these areas and your voice in advocating for our brothers and sisters, within and beyond our profession, illustrate the values of our organization. You put words into actions.
With that, WE have Accomplished many things this past year. Some of these accomplishments include the inclusion of APALA’s Literature Award winners at the Youth Media Awards, the leadership of our members in making the 3rd Joint Conference of Librarians of Color a tremendous success, and the financial security of our organization for many years to come.
As we close this year, I am Excited on what is in the horizon for our 40th year as an organization. We have thrived as an organization and as family throughout these years and decades with your work and generosity. APALA is stronger than ever.
I Thank You for giving me this opportunity to be your President. I am forever grateful.
Sincerely,
Paolo P. Gujilde
