APALA colleagues, I am delighted and honored to serve as your President for 2021-2022. There are many activities being planned out, and we are so excited to welcome you all to participate in them!
Over 90 members have been appointed to our committees and task forces. Thank you all for agreeing to serve and lead our association!
In addition, we are building leadership development programs such as Path to Leadership: National Forum Advancing Asian/Pacific Islander American Librarianship with the Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA), and funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
Following on the awesome work by our amazing APALA past presidents, I hope to continue encouraging, engaging and empowering our members to lead our association collaboratively, and fulfilling our strategic priorities. I am inspired by our APALA members and what we have been able to accomplish during these stressful and difficult times under COVID. We remain vigilant and will continue to draw strength from our values to remind us who we are and what we stand for. We will get through this together by looking out for each other and lifting each other up.
Sincerely,
Ray Pun
APALA President 2021-2022
