Interested in finding a mentor? Want to give back to the profession by supporting a newbie librarian or library student? The APALA Mentoring Program is now accepting proteges and mentor applications. For more information & application forms:
http://www.apalaweb.org/membership/mentoring-program/
The purpose of the APALA Mentoring Program is to provide professional and personal development, inspiration, and encouragement through a supportive mentoring relationship. If you have 3 or fewer years professional experience you’re eligible to be paired with a mentor. (Mentors and proteges need to be or become APALA members).
Matches between proteges and mentors will be made based on the protege’s goals, the type of library they work in or would like to work in, geographic location, and the availability of mentors.
Mentor applications are due Friday, September 30, 2011
Protege applications are due Sunday, October 2, 2011
Interested applicants may apply by downloading the word application forms via the link provided at the bottom of the mentoring program page and forwarding it to Linda Ueki Absher at absherl@pdx.edu, or filling out the online application forms.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at absherl@pdx.edu or by calling me at 503-725-4713.
