The ALA/TLA student chapter of the University of Texas at Austin School of Information is hosting an ethnic diversity panel this coming Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 12:00-1:00p.m. The panel will feature speakers representing four of the ethnic organizations affiliated with the ALA. The speakers will include:
Eugenia Beh, Asian Pacific American Library Association Representative, Texas A&M
Gustavo Soto, REFORMA Representative, Windsor Park Library
DL Grant, Black Caucus of American Library Association, G.W. Carver Branch Library, San Antonio Public Library
Uri Kolodney, Association of Jewish Libraries, University of Texas Perry-Castaneda Library
The speakers will talk about the organization they are representing, their own experiences within the organization, and opportunities for professional development, and student involvement.
The event will take place in the large conference room on the 5th floor. The ALA/TLA student chapter will provide free pizza and snacks.
