Dear APALA Members,
JCLC 2022 is coming up this October and just like previous JCLCs, we will be honoring some of our members with awards. JCLC asked each of the National Associations of Librarians of Color to name members as recipients of the following awards:
JCLC 2022 RISING LEADER
To recognize a promising future leader who has less than ten years of experience in the profession.
JCLC 2022 ADVOCACY AWARD
To recognize demonstrated commitment in support of library and information services to the profession and/or community of users.
JCLC 2022 LEGACY AWARD
To honor an experienced or seasoned professional who has been a dedicated professional and served 20+ years in the profession.
We would like APALA members to either self-nominate or nominate any of our colleagues who you think is deserving of such awards. We will add your nominations to the list of names. Then, the current APALA Executive Board will review the nominations based on established selection criteria.
TASKS:
1.) Self-nominate or nominate APALA members who you think fits the award category by Monday, September 12th (Extended deadline!). Please enter only one name or if you want to skip that category, please leave it blank.
2.) Write at least a paragraph “why” you or your nominee/s should receive an award.
Also, feel free to send your or your nominee’s CV/resume/Linked In to us for review. You can either upload it in the form or email this document to me at Annie Pho anniepho@gmail.com.
