The Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA) Executive Board is proud to endorse Cindy Hohl in the American Library Association’s 2024-2025 Presidential election.
Cindy is the Director of Policy Analysis and Operational Support at the Kansas City Public Library and has held many important leadership roles in the library field. Some of her most recent positions include serving on the Steering Committee of the fourth Joint Conference of Librarians of Color (2019-2023); leading the American Indian Library Association (AILA) as its President and Past President (2020-2022); and working as project manager for the San Jose State University Bridging Knowledge Scholarship Program (2021-2024)
APALA values the connections that Cindy fostered between APALA and AILA through ongoing collaborations like the Talk Story: Sharing Stories, Sharing Culture family literacy program. Through her leadership, Cindy creates partnerships and builds associations that value and promote libraries and library workers of color everywhere. We believe her vision and values align well with those of APALA, and we recognize her strengths as an inclusive leader.
Cindy is a visionary leader with the strength and skills necessary to deliver actionable results. APALA is honored to give Cindy Hohl and her campaign its full and unwavering support.
